Remo Stars move to the top of the Nigeria Premier League after a 2-1 win over Sporting Lagos in a tension soaked South West derby in Ikenne on Sunday. Sporting Lagos goalkeeper Christian Nwoke conceded a goal for the first time this season after keeping clean sheets in three previous games.
Sporting Lagos went infront in the game after Jonathan Alukwu broke the deadlock in the 21st minute. But Remo Stars leveled the game 10 minutes later through Frank Mawuena. Sikiru Alimi scored the winning goal from the penalty spot, three minutes after the break after captain, Ozaveche Balogun handled the ball in his box.
In Uyo, Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan held Akwa United to a goalless draw on Sunday. Akwa United remain winless this season, while Shooting Stars picked their first away point of the season as they move to 4th on the log.
Lobi Stars extended their unbeaten streak in the Nigeria Premier Football League this season with a 2-0 win over Abia Warriors at the Aper Aku stadium on Sunday.

Seven-time champions Enugu Rangers moved to third position after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Kwara United in Ilorin on Sunday. Kazeem Ogunleye put Rangers ahead four minutes after the half hour mark. But Kwara United fought back with Alao Mohamed netting the equaliser in the 53rd minute.
Kano Pillars beat Rivers United 1-0, with 43-year-old Rabiu Ali netting the winning goal in stoppage time at the Sani Abacha stadium on Sunday.
At the Pantami Township Stadium, Gombe United handed Bendel Insurance their first defeat of the season with a 1-0 win on Sunday. Ahmed Jimoh scored the decisive goal in the 51st minute of the encounter.
At the New Jos Stadium, Plateau United defeated Sunshine Stars of Akure 1-0 on Sunday. Albert Hilary scored the only goal of the game in the 30th minute of the encounter to earn the former champions their second win of the season.
Heartland of Owerri remain without a win this season after playing out a 1-1 draw against Katsina United on Sunday.
