In the Spanish LaLiga, Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq scored a wonderful goal for Real Sociedad in their 1-1 draw against Osasuna on Saturday. The Nigerian international who was making his 13th appearance in the league this season, had a brilliant performance. Sadiq leveled parity in the 41st minute with a fine goal after Gomez has put Osasuna in front in the 2nd minute.
For the second weekend running Sadiq netted another superb strike for Sociedad. It would be recalled that he also unleashed a rocket from distance in a 2-1 home win against Sevilla a week ago.
In the German Bundesliga, Nigerian striker Victor Boniface was in target for Bayer Leverkusen in their 1-1 draw against Dortmund on Sunday. Boniface equalised for the Xabi Alonso side in the 79th minute to rescue a point. The 22-year-old has now registered eight goals with five assists in 13 league matches this season.
In the Premier League, Super Eagles duo of Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey were in action as Fulham lost 4-3 to Liverpool in Sunday’s Premier League game. Iwobi, who was making his 12th appearance played for 75 minutes. Has netted one goal for Fulham this ongoing season.
Bassy played the entire duration of the game, but could not prevent his team from loosing to the Reds. It was his 10th appearance for Fulham in the league this season.
Frank Onyeka was impressive in midfield as Brentford earn a comfortable 3-1 home win over Luton on Saturday. The 25-year-old was making his 12th league appearance of the season, and played from start to finish in the game.
In the Championship, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho were in action for Leicester City in their 2-1 away win over Josh Maja’s West Brom on Saturday. Ndidi got an assist for Leicester, while Maja was on target for West Brom. Ndidi has now recorded four assists into Championship this season, while it’s the first league goal of the season for Maja.
In France, Super Eagles forward Moses Simon was in action for Nantes in their 1-0 home win against Terem Moffi’s Nice in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday. Simon played for the entire duration of the game. His compatriot Terem Moffi was also in action for the full 90 minutes.
Simon has recorded three goals with four assists in all competitions this season, while Moffi has registered four goals with two assists in all competitions.
Akor Adams was in action for 75 minutes for Montpellier in their 2-0 defeat at Monaco on Sunday. Admas was making his 14th league appearance this season, and has scored seven goals so far.
In Italy, Samuel Chukwueze played for AC Milan in their 3-1 win over Frosinone at the San Siro on Saturday. Chukwueze was named in Milan’s starting 11 before he was replaced in the 64th minute. The 24-year-old had registered one goal and one assist in all competitions this season.
It was a return to winning for Milan who suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League.
In Portugal, Kelechi Nwakali was awarded Man of the Match in Chaves’ 2-1 home win against Vizela in the Portuguese Primeira Liga on Friday night. The 25-year-old featured in his 12th league appearance for struggling Chaves, and has recorded two assists this season.
In Turkey, Paul Onuachu played for the entire duration for Trabzonspor in their 1-0 defeat at home to Kayserispor on Sunday. It was Onuachu’s 10th league appearance this season, and has scored seven goals.
