Onyeka, on his return from the AFCON started the game from the bench as he replaced Christian Norgaard in the 63rd minute. It was the 26-year-old’s 16th league appearance of the season for the Bees.
At the Craven Cottage, Tye duo of Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey were back in action for Fulham who lost 1-2 at home to Aston Villa on Saturday. Iwobi replaced Willian after the break, while Bassay came on in the 75th minute.
In Germany, Nigerian winger, Nathan Tella was in action as Bayer Leverkusen edged FC Heidenheim 2-1 in Saturday’s Bundesliga game. Tella came on as a substitute for Jeremie Frimpong in the 88th minute. The Nigerian international who has made 12 appearance, has netted four goals and bagged one assist this season.
In the Spanish LaLiga, Super Eagles striker, Umar Sadiq was in action as Real Sociedad defeated Mallorca 2-1 on Sunday. He was substituted in the 65th minute for Silva after an impressive display. The Nigerian international who was making his 22nd appearance, and has scored two goals with one assist this season.
In Belgium, Tolu Arokodare was on target for the second game in a row for Genk as they came from behind to earn 3-1 home victory over Molenbeek on Saturday. The Nigerian player opened the scoring in the 21st minute of the encounter. He has now scored 11 goals with two assist in all competitions this season.
In Scotland, Cyriel Dessers was in action for Rangers who thrashed St. Johnstone 3-0 in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday. The Nigerian striker replaced Fabio Silva in the 69th minute for his 23rd league appearance of the season. His compatriot Leon Balogun was on the bench for the entire duration of the game.
In Czech Republic, Victor Olatunji scored and got an assist for Sparta Prague in their 2-1 home league win over Slovan Liberec on Sunday. The Nigerian foward doubled Sparta’s lead in the 49th minute, two minutes after he had assisted Lukas Haraslin for the opening goal.
In Portugal, Super Eagles defender, Zaidu Sanusi will be sidelined for around six months due to injury. He sustained a ligament injury in FC Porto’s 2-0 home win against Estrella da Amadora on Saturday night, and was replaced by Jorge Sanchez in the 37th minute of the encounter.
In Saudi Arabia, the duo of Henry Onyekuru and Anthony Nwakaeme ran the show for Al Fayha in their 3-1 away victory over Al Kazem in the Saudi Pro League on Saturday. Onyekuru scored two of the three goals, with Nwakaeme providing assists for the goals, while Nwakaeme himself also got his name on the scorer sheet as he scored the third goal for Al Fayha.
