Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro believes former Chelsea manger Jose Mourinho will be a better choice for Barcelona in their quest to replace Xavi at the end of the season.
The former Real Madrid manager, Mourinho is currently out of job after parting ways with Roma in January, and Xavi will step down as Barcelona head coach at the end of the season. He announced the decision in January after Barcelona lost 5-3 at home to Villarreal, conceding twice in added time at the Nou Camp.
“I’m Portuguese, a good friend of Mourinho… I like Mou,” Peseiro said in an interview with Spanish outlet, Sport.
“I would like Mourinho to go to coach Barça, he has to be in a team to win everything, because he is a winner.
“I’m sure he would do well because of the demands he places on everything and everyone around him day after day, every minute, to build a team to win.”
Peseiro guided the Super Eagles of Nigeria to a second-place finish at the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.
