Shooting Stars Sport Club (3SC) of Ibadan defeated Remo Stars 2-0 in a keenly contested South West derby at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan on Sunday.
Christian Pyagbara was the hero as he scored the two goals that earned the Oluyole Warriors their first ever victory over Remo Stars after 10 games.
Pyagbara put 3SC in front just 15 minutes into the game, and doubled the lead, as he put the icing on the cake 10 minutes from time to hand Shooting all three points.
Remo Stars were reduced to 10 men in the 67th minute after former 3SC player, Sikiru Alimi received his second booking, and was sent off by the centre referee.
The win catapulted 3SC to 6th on the log, with 40 points after 26 games. The Gbenga Ogunbote team has now won all their last three games without conceding any goal, and they remain unbeaten in their last six matches.
