In Italy, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen was on target for Napoli in their 4-2 win over Monza at the U-Power Stadium on Sunday. Osimhen equalised for Napoli with a header 10 minutes after the break, after Monza went in front in the 9th minute. The 25-year-old has now scored 14 goals in all competitions for the Italians champions this season.
Ademola Lookman had an assist in Atalanta’s 2-1 defeat away to Cagliari in the Serie A on Sunday. Lookman set up Gianluca Scamacca for the opening goal in the 13th minute before Tommaso Augelio equalised for Cagliari in the 42nd minute, and Nicolas Viola got the winner in the 88th minute. The Super Eagles forward has now registered eight goals with four assist in 24 league appearances for Atalanta this season.
Samuel Chukwueze also got an assist for AC Milan in their comfortable 3-0 win against Lecce in the Serie A on Saturday at the San Siro stadium. The Super Eagles winger made his 19th appearance in the league this season and marked his impressive performance with an assist for Milan’s opening goal scored by Christian Pulisic in the 6th minute.
In Belgium, Raphael Onyedika scored twice for Club Brugge in their 3-1 home league win over Anderlecht on Sunday. The Nigerian forward scored in the 61st and 89th minutes to register his first and second league goal of the season.
In Scotland, Cyriel Dessers provided an assist as Rangers forced rivals Celtic to a 3-3 draw at Ibrox in Sunday’s league derby. With four minutes left to play Dessers set up Abdallah Sima to make it 2-2. His compatriot, Leon Balogun had a cameo appearance for Rangers after coming on as a substitute in the 90th minute.
In the Premier League, Super Eagles defender, Ola Aina played all 90 minutes as Tottenham edged Nottingham Forest 3-1 in Sunday’s Premier League game. The Nigerian international, who was making his 17th appearance, has scored one goal and bagged one assist for Nottingham Forest this ongoing season.
Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka was in action for struggling Brentford who held Aston Villa to a 3-3 draw away in Saturday’s Premier League. Onyeka came on as substitute with just four minutes left to play.
At Craven Cottage, Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey featured in Fulham’s 1-0 home loss to Newcastle United. Both players saw 90 minutes of action as Fulham are now winless in their last three games.
In Germany, the duo of Nathan Tella and Victor Boniface were in action for Bayer Leverkusen in their 1-0 win at Union Berlin on Saturday. Tella was in the starting 11 and was replaced in the 79th minute, while Boniface came on in the 67th minute for his first league appearance since returning from injury. Leverkusen remain unbeaten this season, and are just one win away from landing their first-ever Bundesliga title.
