In Germany, Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface scored and provided an assist for Bayer Leverkusen in their 5-0 win over Werder Bremen, as they win their first-ever Bundesliga title on Sunday.
Boniface broke the deadlock in the 25th minute after converting from the penalty spot. He then provided the assist for Leverkusen’s second goal scored by Granit Xhaka in the 60th minute. The 23-year-old has now recorded 11 goals with eight assists in 18 league appearances this season.
Also in action for Leverkusen was Nathan Tella, who came on in the 62nd minute.
In Italy, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen scored for Napoli in their 2-2 draw with Frosinone on Sunday. The Nigerian international, who has made 20 league appearances, has netted 13 goals and bagged three assists this ongoing season for Napoli.
Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze was in action for AC Milan in their 3-3 draw with Sassuolo in Sunday’s Serie A game. The Nigerian international, who was making his 20th appearance netted a goal in the 63rd minute but had the goal disallowed by the VAR.
In Belgium, Raphael Onyedika was on target for Club Brugge in their 3-0 win over Royal Antwerp, the 22-year-old put his team in front a minute before the break. The midfielder has scored three goals in 24 league appearances this season.
His compatriots, Alhassan Yusuf and Chidera Ejuke were also in action for Royal Antwerp in the game.
In the Premier League, Super Eagles midfielder, Frank Onyeka scored his first Premier League goal for Brentford in their 2-0 over Sheffield United on Saturday. The Nigerian international, who came on as a substitute in the in added minutes of the game, scored with his first touch two minutes later.
Alex Iwobi put up a good display as he registered an assist for Fulham in their 2-0 away win against West Ham United at the London Stadium on Sunday. Iwobi set up Andreas Pereira for Milan’s second goal in the 72nd minute. However, the Super Eagles forward was replaced two minutes later.
His compatriot Calvin Bassey was in action for 90 minutes in the game.
Ola Aina was in action for Nottingham Forest in their 2-2 draw with Wolves on Saturday. The Super Eagles defender was replaced in the 89th minute.
In France, Akor Adams provided an assist for Montpellier in their 1-1 draw with Clermont Foot on Sunday, the Nigerian attacker assisted Tanguy Coulibaly for the equaliser in the 56th minute. He has now recorded nine goals with two assists for Montpellier in all competitions this season.
