The Nigerian football governing body confirmed the appointment of Finidi as Super Eagles head coach on Monday, having also taken charge of the team on an interim basis after the departure of Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro.
Ex-internationals Emmanuel Amuneke and Daniel Amokachi were rumoured to be Finidi’s potential assistant coaches.
Amokachi and Amuneke once worked as assistant coaches in the Super Eagles. Former Everton striker was assistant to late coaches, Shaibu Amodu and Stephen Keshi. While Amuneke had stint as an assistant coach to Samson Siasia and Augustine Eguavoen.
