In Scotland, Cyriel Dessers was on target for Rangers in their 2-1 defeat to rivals, Celtic in the Scottish Premiership clash on Saturday. In Turkey, Paul Onuachu bagged a brace as Trabzonspor defeated Istanbulspor 3-0 in their Turkish Super Lig clash on Sunday night. The 29-year-old opened scoring for Trabzonspor in the sixth minute, and added the second a minute later. The Nigerian striker was in action for 64 minutes in the encounter, and has scored 14 goals in 20 league appearances for Trabzonspor this season.
In Italy, Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen was in action as Napoli lost 2-0 to Bologna in Saturday’s Serie A game. The Nigerian international who was making his 24th league appearance for Napoli, played for the entire duration of the game. He has netted 15 goals and bagged three assists this ongoing season.
In another venue, Samuel Chukwueze played the opening half of AC Milan’s 5-1 victory over Cagliari, securing a second place finish in the league this season.
In the Premier League, Super Eagles duo of Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi were in action for Nottingham Forest in their 2-3 defeat to Chelsea in Saturday’s Premier League game. Awoniyi, who just came back from injury came on as a second half substitute for Moussa Niakhaté in the 87th minute, while Aina who was making his 22nd appearances played for full 90 minutes.
In France, Terem Moffi was in action for OGC Nice who edged Le Havre 1-0 in the French Ligue 1 on Friday night. The Super Eagles forward was in the starting lineup before he was replaced in the 60th minute. The 24-year-old has scored 11 goals with two assists in 28 league appearances for his club this season.
In another venue, Gift Orban was in action for Olympique Lyon in their 1-0 win at Clermont in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday. Orban has now failed to score in five consecutive games for Lyon. He only has one goal in 13 league appearances for Lyon since joining them in the summer.

In Women’s football, Super Falcons midfield star Christy Ucheibe won her fourth consecutive league title with Benfica women’s football team on Saturday. The 23-year-old featured for Benfica who recorded a 2-1 win against Racing Power FC to retain their Liga BPI crown. She is expected to be part of the Super Falcons squad that will feature at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
In France, Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie was named Player of the Match in Paris FC’s defeat to PSG in the French women’s league playoffs semi-final game on Saturday night. After regulation time ended 2-2, PSG went on to win 5-4 on penalty shootout.
In Spain, Super Falcons star Rasheedat Ajibade had a goal and an assist in Atletico de Madrid Femenino’s 3-2 win over Real Madrid on Saturday.
Ajibade was also named Atletico Madrid women’s Player of the Month for April. It is Ajibade’s third consecutive Player of the Month award after winning it in February and March.
