Finidi George has reportedly resigned as Super Eagles head coach. According to sources, the coach has already submitted his resignation letter to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The former Enyimba coach took the decision following NFF’s decision to appoint a foreign technical adviser for the Super Eagles.
His demotion meant his contract will be downgraded and his reported monthly salary of N15m will be reviewed downwards to N5m.
Finidi was appointed as Super Eagles head coach in May, succeeding Portuguese Jose Peseiro.
The ex international has started poorly as the gaffer of the National team, after the Super Eagles failed to record a win in their recent 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic.
