Nigeria’s other representative in the 2024/25 CAF Champions League, Remo Stars recorded a 2-1 win against AS FAR of Morocco in the first leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary round clash on Sunday.
Captain Junior Nduka opened the scoring for Daniel Ogunmodede’s side from a header in the 19th minute, but AS FAR levelled four minutes after the break.
However, Sodiq Ismail nodded home the winning goal in the 63rd minute to earn Remo Starts a slim home win.
The reverse fixture will hold next week in Morocco. It’s Remo Stars’ their third consecutive season on the continent, but they are yet to play in the group stages.
The winner of the tie will face either Sudan’s El Merreikh or Libya’s representative in the second preliminary round.
