Lobi Stars Football Club has made a significant change in leadership, appointing former Super Eagles player Daniel Amokachi as the new technical adviser. This announcement came shortly after the club parted ways with former coach Eugene Agagbe, whose last game in charge was a 1-0 home victory against Shooting Stars on Saturday.
Agagbe had taken over as technical adviser last season, following the dismissal of Mohammed Babaganaru. However, Lobi Stars have had a challenging start to the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, managing only one win, one draw, and suffering three defeats in their first five matches.
In a further shake-up, the club also announced that the entire backroom staff had been relieved of their duties. They have been given the option to reapply if they wish to continue working with the team.
Amokachi, who enjoyed a stellar football career with the Nigerian national team, is set to take charge of the squad immediately. His appointment signals a new direction for Lobi Stars, as they look to improve their performance in the ongoing season.
Fans will be eager to see how his experience and leadership can help turn the club’s fortunes around. Amokachi has previously coached Nasarawa United, and Enyimba in the NPFL.
