Kwara United also impressed with a 3-0 victory over Sunshine Stars in Ilorin. Wasiu Alalade was the star of the match, grabbing a brace, while Abdulraheem Shola added a third to seal the win.
Meanwhile, former champions Enyimba played out a 1-1 draw with Niger Tornadoes in Aba. Joseph Godstime gave Tornadoes the lead just before halftime, but Enyimba equalized in the 75th minute through Ufere Chinedu to salvage a point.
