Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) delivered a solid 2-0 victory against Abia Warriors in a Matchday 15 clash at the Lekan Salami Stadium on Sunday. The Oluyole Warriors secured all three points within the first half, thanks to goals from Anthony Okachi and Akpan Joshua.
Okachi opened the scoring in the 39th minute by converting a penalty, which was awarded after skipper Gali Falke was brought down in the box. Akpan Joshua doubled the lead shortly after, expertly finishing a cross from Gideon Monday.
With this win, 3SC climbed to sixth position on the NPFL table, boasting 21 points from 15 matches. Their next challenge is a Southwest Derby against Sunshine Stars in Ijebu-Ode on Sunday.
Bendel Insurance Edge Plateau United
At the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Bendel Insurance claimed a 2-1 victory over Plateau United. The Benin Arsenals took an early lead with a seventh-minute goal by Uche Collins, but Victor Dawa leveled the score for Plateau United in the 24th minute.
