Turkey – Osimhen Strikes Again
In the Turkish Super Lig, Victor Osimhen was on target once again as Galatasaray secured a 2-0 away victory over third-placed Samsunspor on Friday. The Nigerian forward opened the scoring just a minute after the break with a delightful chipped effort. It marked his 21st league goal of the season for Okan Buruk’s side. In total, Osimhen has racked up an impressive 29 goals and five assists in 33 appearances across all competitions for the Turkish giants.
Greece: Onyemaechi Clinches the Title
Bruno Onyemaechi celebrated silverware in Greece as Olympiacos secured the Greek Super League title with a 1-0 win over AEK Athens in the Championship play-offs. Onyemaechi, who joined in January, played the full 90 minutes in what was his sixth league appearance. This triumph marks Olympiacos’ 48th league title – the most in the history of the Greek top flight.
England – Mixed Fortunes in the Premier League and Championship
At the AMEX Stadium, Wilfred Ndidi returned to the starting lineup as Leicester City ended their losing streak with a 2-2 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion. Ndidi was subbed off in the 61st minute after a solid performance.
Meanwhile, at St. Mary’s, already relegated Southampton suffered a 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa. Paul Onuachu started the match but was withdrawn at halftime, while Joe Aribo remained an unused substitute.
Nottingham Forest duo Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi missed their side’s narrow 1-0 home defeat to Everton due to injuries.
In the Championship, Muhamed Tijani emerged as the hero for Plymouth Argyle, coming off the bench in the 64th minute to score the decisive goal in their shock 2-1 win over Sheffield United. The 24-year-old now has two goals in nine league outings this season.
Spain – Uche, Sadiq, and Ejuke Feature in La Liga
Christantus Uche featured for Getafe in their 3-1 loss to Las Palmas on Saturday. The midfielder has been a consistent figure this season, notching up 29 appearances, three goals, and five assists.
Elsewhere, Umar Sadiq and Chidera Ejuke were both involved as Valencia edged Sevilla 1-0 at the Mestalla on Friday. Sadiq started the match and was subbed off after 60 minutes, while Ejuke came on in the 66th minute. Germany – Solid Performances in the Bundesliga
