It was an eventful weekend for Nigerian footballers aboard, with Super Eagles and Super Falcons stars delivering impressive performances for their respective clubs.
In the Premier League, Wilfred Ndidi featured for Leicester City in a thrilling 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest on Sunday. The Super Eagles midfielder, making his 28th league appearance of the season, has now registered four assists. For Forest, Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi were also in action. Aina earned a yellow card during the match, while Awoniyi came on as a late substitute in the 83rd minute.
On Saturday, Joe Aribo came off the bench at halftime to help Southampton secure a goalless draw against Manchester City at Saint Mary’s. His compatriot Paul Onuachu remained an unused substitute.

The Nigerian international, who was making his 31st appearance, has scored seven goals and bagged nine assists this season. Simon was substituted in the 90th minute for Guirassy after his impressive display.
Meanwhile in Serie A, Samuel Chukwueze finally opened his assist account for AC Milan in their 3-1 win over Bologna. The Nigerian winger, who replaced Alex Jimenez in the 65th minute, set up Santiago Gimenez’s goal in stoppage time, marking his first assist in 25 league games this season.
In Spain’s Liga F, Rinsola Babajide scored a stunning goal for UD Tenerife in their 1-1 draw away to Real Madrid. She was in action for 88 minutes, continuing her influential run in the Spanish topflight.
Also in Liga F, Rasheedat Ajibade found the net for Atletico Madrid Femenino as they secured a 2-0 victory over Eibar on Sunday.
Across the Atlantic in the NWSL, Gift Monday emerged as the match-winner for Washington Spirit, scoring the decisive goal in their 3-2 triumph over Chicago. The Super Falcons forward was introduced in the second half and made a decisive impact in just 28 minutes.
