Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has unveiled his final 23-man squad for Nigeria’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and South Africa.
Leading the team is captain William Troost-Ekong, alongside midfield stalwarts Alex Iwobi and Raphael Onyedika, while the attack will be spearheaded by Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman.
In goal, Stanley Nwabali retains his spot after his consistent performances, with Adeleye Adebayo making a return to the fold and Amas Obasogie joining as backup.
The defensive lineup includes Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina, and Bright Osayi-Samuel, with Felix Agu of Werder Bremen earning his chance to make a competitive debut for Nigeria.
The midfield sees the inclusion of Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, while the forward line is boosted by the return of Cyriel Dessers. However, notable omissions include striker Victor Boniface and the absence of any home-based players.
The Super Eagles will first face the Amavubi of Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, on Saturday, September 6th. They will then travel to Bloemfontein to clash with Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Tuesday, September 9th.
