Nigeria’s football queen, Asisat Oshoala, is on the move again—this time to the Middle East. The six-time African Women’s Player of the Year has officially swapped the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in the USA for the Saudi Women’s Premier League, signing a two-year deal with Al Hilal.
The 30-year-old forward only joined Bay FC back in February 2024 after leaving Barcelona Femeni, where she enjoyed a trophy-filled spell that cemented her as one of the best strikers in women’s football. Following medicals completed on Monday night, Oshoala has now linked up with her new teammates in Riyadh, opening yet another exciting chapter in her glittering career.
In her time with Bay FC, she featured in 25 league matches (23 starts), scoring seven goals and registering one assist. Across all competitions, she racked up 38 appearances and netted eight goals.
Her career resume speaks for itself: spells at Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona, and now Al Hilal — plus a starring role in Nigeria’s national team. Oshoala was part of the Super Falcons squad that clinched a record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title in Morocco, further cementing her legendary status on the continent.
Oshoala has now joined her Super Falcons teammates, Ashleigh Plumptre and Francisca Ordega in the oil rich nation.
