It was another action-packed weekend for Super Eagles players across Europe, with goals, assists, and standout performances lighting up some of the continent’s biggest leagues.
Onuachu Leads the Charge in Turkey
Paul Onuachu continued his sizzling form in Turkey, firing in a brilliant brace as Trabzonspor defeated Konyaspor 3–1 in the Super Lig on Saturday. The striker levelled the score from the penalty spot just before halftime and struck again five minutes into the second half. Onuachu now sits atop the Super Lig scoring chart with 11 goals in 14 matches, underlining his status as one of the league’s most lethal forwards.
Lookman Scores Again in Italy
In Serie A, Ademola Lookman kept his scoring streak alive with a well-taken goal in Atalanta’s 2–0 victory over Fiorentina on Sunday. The winger has now scored in back-to-back matches—adding to his Champions League strike in Atalanta’s 3–0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt during the week. His latest goal came in the 51st minute to double Atalanta’s lead.
Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye also impressed in Italy, producing a clean sheet as Udinese beat 10-man Parma 2–0 away. The Nigerian shot-stopper has now featured six times in Serie A this season.
In another venue, Gift Orban came off the bench for Hellas Verona in their 2–1 defeat to Genoa, while Kingsley Ehizibue made a late appearance for Udinese.
Chukwueze Dazzles in England
In the Premier League, Samuel Chukwueze delivered a Man-of-the-Match display in Fulham’s 2–1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in Saturday’s London derby. Making his first league start for Marco Silva’s side, Chukwueze wasted no time—providing an assist for Kenny Tete just four minutes in and nearly scoring himself minutes later when he struck the woodwork. He now has three assists in six league games for the Cottagers.
Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey also featured in the victory, with Iwobi subbed off late in the game while Bassey completed the full 90 minutes.
Elsewhere in England, Christantus Uche came on late for Crystal Palace in their 2–1 defeat to Manchester United, while Tolu Arokodare made a brief appearance for Wolves in their 1–0 loss to Aston Villa.
Ajayi Scores First Goal for Hull City
In the Championship, Semi Ajayi enjoyed a memorable afternoon as Hull City edged Stoke City 2–1. The defender scored his first goal for the club just minutes into the second half and walked away with the Man of the Match award. Ajayi now has nine league appearances under his belt this season.
Mixed Fortunes in France
Over in Ligue 1, Terem Moffi featured for Nice in their 3–1 defeat to Lorient. The forward has two goals in nine appearances so far this season.
Moses Simon was in action for Paris FC, playing the entire match as they drew 1–1 with Auxerre. The winger has contributed three goals and two assists in 13 appearances this term.
Belgium and Spain: Hard-Fought Battles
In Belgium, Raphael Onyedika played all 90 minutes for Club Brugge but couldn’t prevent a narrow 1–0 defeat to Antwerp.
Meanwhile in Spain, Chidera Ejuke and Akor Adams both featured for Sevilla in their 2–0 home loss to Real Betis. Ejuke played 79 minutes, while Adams completed the full match.
