It was another action-packed weekend for Nigerian stars across Europe, with goals, assists, and standout performances lighting up the top leagues.
Iwobi Inspires Fulham’s Victory Over Tottenham
At Craven Cottage, Alex Iwobi was on target as Fulham secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday. Iwobi doubled Fulham’s lead in the 34th minute, continuing his impressive campaign. The Nigerian international has now netted four league goals this season. He was substituted in the 90th minute after a lively performance.
Compatriots Calvin Bassey and Samuel Chukwueze also featured for Fulham. Bassey completed the full 90 minutes, while Chukwueze came on in the 72nd minute to help see out the win.
Elsewhere in England, Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi were involved in Nottingham Forest’s 2-1 defeat away to Brighton & Hove Albion. Aina featured for 82 minutes, while Awoniyi made a late appearance in the 83rd minute.
Osimhen and Onuachu Shine in Turkey
In the Turkish Super Lig, Victor Osimhen delivered a goal and an assist in Galatasaray’s 3-1 victory over Alanyaspor at RAMs Park. Osimhen set up Lucas Torreira in the 58th minute to restore Galatasaray’s lead before sealing the win with a late goal seven minutes from time. The striker now boasts 10 goals and four assists in 16 league appearances this season.
It was also a memorable outing for Paul Onuachu and Chibuike Nwaiwu, who both found the net in Trabzonspor’s 3-1 win over Fatih Karagümrük at Papara Park.
Onuachu opened the scoring in the 20th minute and has now scored in seven consecutive league matches. The 31-year-old has racked up an impressive 18 goals in 21 league appearances this season. Nwaiwu added two quickfire goals in the 47th and 50th minutes to seal the victory.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Olawoyin recorded his first league assist of the season in Çaykur Rizespor’s 3-0 win over Kasımpaşa. Olawoyin set up England-born Nigerian winger Adedire Mebude late in the game to complete the rout.
Moffi Off the Mark in Portugal
In Portugal, Terem Moffi came off the bench to score his first goal for FC Porto in their 3-1 home win against Arouca. The striker struck in added time to put the finishing touch on an important league victory.
Nigerian Stars Active in Spain
In Spain’s La Liga, Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke featured for Sevilla FC in their dramatic 2-2 comeback draw against Real Betis. Adams played the full 90 minutes, while Ejuke was introduced at the start of the second half.
Sadiq Umar was also in action, playing 89 minutes as Valencia CF edged Osasuna 1-0.
Elsewhere, Ademola Lookman featured for Atlético de Madrid in their 1-0 away win over Real Oviedo. Lookman played the first 45 minutes, marking his fourth league appearance since his winter move.

In France, Moses Simon was in action for Paris FC during their 1-0 victory over OGC Nice in Ligue 1. Simon featured for 80 minutes in what was his 21st appearance of the campaign.
