Defending champions Remo Stars kept their survival hopes alive in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) after edging Nasarawa United 2–1 in a dramatic Matchday 30 encounter in Ikenne on Sunday. Under the guidance of new coach Usman Abdallah, Remo Stars showed resilience to secure a crucial victory. Stanley Joseph broke the deadlock for the hosts in the 62nd minute, sending the home crowd into celebration. However, Nasarawa United responded late in the game as Suleiman Dauda found the equaliser in the 83rd minute.
Just when it looked like both teams would settle for a point, Michael Ibe struck the decisive goal two minutes from time to hand Remo Stars a vital three points. Despite the victory, the reigning champions remain in the relegation zone, sitting 19th on the table with 33 points—only one point ahead of bottom-placed Kun Khalifat FC.
Shooting Stars Edge Wikki Tourists in Five-Goal Thriller
In Ibadan, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) claimed an entertaining 3–2 victory over Wikki Tourists at the Lekan Salami Stadium. The hosts regained the advantage just before halftime when Lucky Emmanuel struck in the 44th minute.
The visitors fought back again after the break as John Taiwo restored parity in the 53rd minute. But 3SC had the final say when Tijani Al-Ameen netted a dramatic late winner two minutes from time. The victory lifts Shooting Stars to fourth place on the table with 47 points—level with third-placed Nasarawa United—as the race for continental qualification intensifies.
