In Turkey, Trabzonspor secured a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Galatasaray at Papara Park, thanks to key contributions from their Nigerian stars. Paul Onuachu wasted no time making an impact, opening the scoring just four minutes into the match and taking his league tally to an impressive 22 goals this season. Although the visitors responded, Chibuike Nwaiwu restored Trabzonspor’s lead shortly after the hour mark, heading home a perfectly delivered free-kick from Anthony Nwakaeme, who also played a crucial creative role in the win.
Over in England’s Championship, Frank Onyeka made headlines by scoring his first goal for Coventry City in their thrilling 3–2 win over Derby County.
