Paris Saint-Germain are heading back to the biggest stage in European football after seeing off Bayern Munich in a gripping semi-final showdown. The reigning champions held their nerve across two legs to keep their title defence alive—and now a blockbuster final against Arsenal awaits.
After a breathtaking 5–4 first-leg win in Paris, Luis Enrique’s side arrived in Munich knowing the job was only half done. While the return leg at the Allianz Arena didn’t quite match the chaos of the opener, it still delivered drama, intensity, and moments of real quality.
PSG wasted no time stamping their authority on the tie. Just three minutes in, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia produced a dazzling run before whipping in a perfect cross for Ousmane Dembele, who buried it emphatically to silence the home crowd.
Bayern, backed by a roaring Allianz Arena, pushed hard for a response. Harry Kane—who has been in sensational form all season—found himself tightly marked and struggled to influence the game as he usually does. The hosts felt aggrieved when a potential penalty was waved away after a handball incident involving Joao Neves, but the decision held firm under the current rules.
After the break, PSG looked the more dangerous side on the counter. Desire Doue came close multiple times, only to be denied by the ever-reliable Manuel Neuer, who kept Bayern’s hopes flickering.
To their credit, Bayern never stopped pushing. Kane eventually found the net deep into stoppage time—his 55th goal of an incredible season—but it proved to be nothing more than a late consolation. The German side simply couldn’t claw back the aggregate deficit, leaving Vincent Kompany and his team to reflect on what might have been.
For PSG, though, the dream is very much alive. Next stop: Budapest, where they’ll face Arsenal on 30 May in a final that promises fireworks.
