Defending champions Remo Stars defeated Bayelsa United 2-1 in Ikenne, to relegate Bayelsa United to the NNL. Ofem Nneoyi gave the visitors an early lead after five minutes, but Remo Stars responded strongly through goals from Alex Oyowah and Victor Mbaoma.
Kun Khalifat improved their survival chances with a convincing 2-0 away win against Abia Warriors, thanks to a brace from Uchechukwu Onuoha.
Rabiu Ali scored the only goal of the match as Kano Pillars edged relegation-threatened Warri Wolves 1-0 at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
Nasarawa United also kept their continental ambitions alive after edging Plateau United 1-0 in a fiercely contested derby encounter.
