Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa says Nigeria have enough quality to bring home the 2023 AFCON title.
Musa believes Jose Peseiro’s side can go all the way in Côte d’Ivoire and win the competition for the fourth time.
“Everybody is excited, waiting for us to travel to Abidjan for the competition,”Musa told NFF TV.
“Since the last game in Uyo, we have been talking, telling each other that it is time for us to go there and shine. We have the quality to win it, if you see the players in the 25-man squad, you can’t say we are not going to win.
You know in football anything can happen, but we have the mindset to win it. The coach has already said his target is to win the AFCON and by God’s grace we are going to win it.”
Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, and the host nation, Cote d’Ivoire, will compete in Group A of this year’s AFCON. Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea will square off in their opening game on January 14 at the Olympic Stadium in Ebimpé. The game starts at 3pm Nigerian Time.
