French Ligue 1 club OGC Nice will release Terem Moffi for Super Eagles duty after their clash with Rennes on Saturday evening. The striker will then fly to Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire to join the Super Eagles squad on Sunday.
Moffi was a late replacement for Bayer Leverkusen striker, Victor Boniface, who was ruled out of the 2023 AFCON after sustaining injury in training.
Moffi has scored six goals with two assists in all competitions for Nice this season, and has scored four goals in 12 appearances for the three-time African champions.
Leicester City forward , Kelechi Iheanacho will also join the Super Eagles squad in Abidjan after completing treatment on a muscular injury.
The Super Eagles will lock horns with the Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea in their first game on January 14 at the Olympic Stadium in Ebimpé. The kickoff is 3pm Nigerian Time.
