Argentina and Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi has donated his eighth Ballon d’Or to the Barcelona museum. Messi won a record eighth Ballon d’Or in October after helping his country win the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Seven of his Ballons d’Or are currently housed in the Catalan club’s official museum, and Messi has now donated the latest trophy despite not winning it with his old club.
Messi has previously said: “Everything I own is in Barcelona, there at the museum. Ballons d’Or, Golden Boots, everything.”
The Argentine cemented a legacy as arguably the greatest player in football history at the Nou Camp, winning 10 Spanish titles and four Champions Leagues while scoring an incredible 672 goals in 778 games.
