Rivers United have progressed to the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup after a 2-1 win over Dreams FC of Ghana in Uyo on Sunday.
Rivers United who needed a win and a favourable result from the other group game between Tunisia’s Club Africain and Academica to qualify for the quarter final had to come from behind, after Aziz had put the visitors ahead in the 40th minute.
Deputy Echeta equalised for the Nigerian team in the 61st minute, before substitute Kazie Godswill scored the winning goal for the Pride of Rivers with the last kick of the game.
Rivers United finished second in Group C with 12 points from six games, behind Dreams FC who top the group with same number of points but with better goals difference.
Club Africain of Tunisia finished third after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Academica do Lobito of Angola.
