Barcelona are interested in bringing Luís Enrique back to the club, according to L’Équipe. The Spaniard left the Catalan club back in 2017 and currently the manager of Paris Saint-Germain.
Barcelona will be in the market for a new manager come the end of the season, with Xavi announcing that he will depart the club this summer. The La Liga side are therefore in the process of constructing a shortlist of potential successors. Luís Enrique’s name may feature on this shortlist, as per a report from L’Équipe.
Luís Enrique arrived at PSG in the summer on a two-year deal. In his debut season, he looks set to lead Les Parisiens to the Ligue 1 title, whilst the club are also still in the Coupe de France and the UEFA Champions League. The Spaniard has announced a desire to construct a project at the Parc des Princes, which makes a premature departure seem unlikely.
However, that doesn’t stop multiple members of Barcelona’s hierarchy, including Deco, appreciating Luís Enrique’s work. It remains to be seen whether the Catalans will launch a bid to repatriate their former manager.
