Nigeria’s senior women’s football team the Super Falcons are set to face a stiff test if they qualify for the football event of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
In the draw ceremony held at the Pulse Building in the French capital of Paris, the nine-time African champions could face either world champions Spain, Japan who were Olympic runners-up in 2012 and Brazil who have been silver-medalists in 2004 and 2008.
The Nigerian girls must first win a tricky double-header with current African champions South Africa for them to seal a place in Group C ahead of football event of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The other two African teams in Morocco and Zambia could face USA, Germany or Australia in Group B.
Nigeria’s first leg clash with South Africa will take place on the 1st of April 2024 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja and the second leg billed for Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on the 9th of April, 2024.
