Nigeria’s Flying Eagles continued their unbeaten run at the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations with a goalless draw against Morocco’s Junior Atlas Lions in their second Group B fixture. The tightly contested clash took place on Sunday at the June 30 Air Defence Stadium in Cairo.
Both sides now sit on four points after two matches, with Morocco edging Nigeria to the top spot on goal difference. Despite the lack of goals, the match highlighted the discipline and defensive strength of both teams as they look ahead to their final group encounters.
Earlier on Sunday, Tunisia secured a 3-1 victory over Kenya in the day’s first Group B fixture. The result saw Tunisia move up to third place with three points, while Kenya, still without a point, have been eliminated from the competition.
The Flying Eagles had opened their tournament on a high note, clinching a 1-0 win over Tunisia last Thursday. Auwal Ibrahim of Akwa United was the hero, netting the decisive goal just before halftime.
Nigeria will wrap up their group stage campaign on Wednesday, May 7, with a clash against already-eliminated Kenya. Meanwhile, Morocco will face Tunisia in what promises to be a decisive battle for a spot in the knockout stage.
