Enyimba International recorded their first away win of the campaign, seeing off Bayelsa United 2-0 at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa. Chidera Michael broke the deadlock in the 76th minute before Kalu Nweke sealed the victory nine minutes later, putting the People’s Elephant on top of the log.
At the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Rivers United edged Shooting Stars 1-0 thanks to a stunning 72nd-minute volley from Ubong Friday. Finidi George’s men remain unbeaten this season, with just one goal conceded so far. The Pride of Rivers now sit second on the log, while 3SC’s struggles continue as they remain winless and languish in 19th.
Kano Pillars finally registered their first win of the season at the Sani Abacha Stadium, defeating Enugu Rangers 1-0 courtesy of a decisive strike from Ahmed Musa.
Defending champions Remo Stars were handed a rude awakening at the New Jos Stadium, where Plateau United ran out 2-0 winners. Tarabina Biweribo opened the scoring just after the hour mark before Remo’s Stanley Joseph saw red in the 81st minute. The numerical advantage paid off immediately, with Mafeng Pam sealing the win two minutes later.
