Nojim Maiyegun made history by winning Nigeria’s first ever medal at the Olympics, a bronze medal in the men’s Light Middleweight (71 kg) category of the boxing event at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. The boxer passed away in Vienna, Austria on Monday, 26 August 2024, at the age of 83. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that it has reached an agreement with German tactician, Bruno Labbadia, to become the Head Coach of Nigeria’s Senior Men National Team, Super Eagles. NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi disclosed that the NFF Executive Committee has approved the recommendation of its Technical and Development Sub-Committee to appoint Mr. Bruno Labbadia as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles, and the appointment is with immediate effect.
