Enugu Rangers have won the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title after a 2-0 victory over Bendel Insurance in Enugu on Sunday. Kenechukwu Agu put the coach Fidelis Ilechukwu side in front in the 33rd minute, before Chidiebere Nwobodo doubled the advantage in the 65th minute to secure their 8th NPFL title with one game to spare. Finidi George has reportedly resigned as Super Eagles head coach. According to sources, the coach has already submitted his resignation letter to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). The former Enyimba coach took the decision following NFF’s decision to appoint a foreign technical adviser for the Super Eagles. His demotion meant his contract will be downgraded and his reported monthly salary of N15m will be reviewed downwards to N5m.
